(picture fromhttp://bpwusa.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/simple2.jpg)

we are living in the world full with new technology and we have to deal with new media in every day of life. Although, the new media are moving so fast, we do not have to follow them in 100%. In order to live simply, we should use 24 hours a day in the way of simple by avoiding technology as much as we can. We have to remind ourselves that we can control our life instead of let new media control our way.
There are many ways in order to make your life more simple.

Although, I am not the person who have lived with the new media long enough but I am the one who can tell that my life has changed since I become involve with Facebook. For example, I live in the apartment with my 2 roommates. In order to communicate to each other, sometime instead of talking directly we are using Facebook to communicate to each other. We are too lazy to just walking to another person room and have a conversation in face to face. I know it is a bad habit but I still do it. I think that is the reason why I try to avoid using Facebook in the unproductive way.

I have to confess that I have never heard about Twitter until I take this class. When I registered, I realize that my life has struck with new media by updating my status all the time. In the same time my parents who live in Thailand cannot catch up with new media, they never know that much what’s happening in my life and they never know how can get into new media. The only way my parents can do is waiting for my phone in order to ask me some questions that “ How are you doing?” “ How’s everything in your life?” This is the simply question for my parents to ask me and for me to answer. Part of me, I am glad that my parents is not addicted to Facebook otherwise I believe they will want to know anything from my life in America. And I am certain that it is just another side of my life that I do not want them to engage. Sometimes we may forget that while we are sitting in front of the computer to update our status, there are some people waiting for you in another part of the world.

slow down and enjoy the basic of our life

In today's world of hustle, bustle and busy lives, the simple life can be hard to find. We have to accept that technology is part of our life. Moreover, we try to use the benefit from them as much as we can in the same time of forget the day that we used to live without them. We are starting to forget human feeling in the real conversation by texting in stead. If you look carefully ,we are sometimes too busy wasting our time to talk with our friends on mobile phone, gossip with them on blackberry, and update our status all the time on Facebook and Twitter. Well, when life is too busy with new media, we should slow down to enjoy some of the basic fundamentals of simple life such as turn our phone off when we need quiet time and remember the joys of doing nothing.

There are many beautiful spaces in our life, but we fail to recognize them because we can't see the stuff we own. When we own something, we have to appreciate and enjoy with it. Because nothing can give us permanent and true happiness. We must take time to enjoy the simple things in life, and slow down and see what's in front of us.
